Applicability of Heavy Quark Effective Theory to the Radiative Decay B → K ∗ γ

چکیده
In the context of the observed decay B → Kγ the applicability of the Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET), treating both b and s as heavy quarks, is examined. We show that the heavy s-quark approximation, as can be found in the literature, is not reliable. Electronic address: [email protected]

Effective Hamiltonian of Electroweak Penguin for Hadronic b Quark Decays
In this research we work with the effective Hamiltonian and the quark model. We investigate the decay rates of matter-antimatter of quark. We describe the effective Hamiltonian theory and apply this theory to the calculation of current-current ( ), QCD penguin ( ), magnetic dipole ( ) and electroweak penguin ( ) decay rates. The gluonic penguin structure of hadronic decays is studied thro...
متن کامل1 B → K ∗ γ decay on APE ∗
We present results for the radiative decay B → K * γ, obtained by using the Clover action at β = 6.0 on APE. The compatibility between the scaling laws predicted by the Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) and pole dominance is discussed. The final result depends crucially on the assumed q 2-dependence of the form factors.
متن کاملThe role of electroweak penguin and magnetic dipole QCD penguin on hadronic b Quark Decays
This research, works with the effective Hamiltonian and the quark model. Using, the decay rates of matter-antimatter of b quark was investigated. We described the effective Hamiltonian theory which was applied to the calculation of current-current (Q1,2), QCD penguin (Q3,…,6), magnetic dipole (Q8) and electroweak penguin (Q7,…,10) decay rates. The gluonic penguin structure of hadronic decays ...
متن کاملRadiative B → K ∗ γ transition in QCD
We evaluate the branching ratios of the radiative decays B → Kγ, and B → K1γ in the framework of three-point function QCD sum rules. We find: Γ(B → Kγ)/Γ(b → sγ) = 0.17 ± 0.05 and Γ(B → K1γ)/Γ(b → sγ) = 0.30 ± 0.15. We also study, in the infinite quark mass limit, the connection between the form factor of the radiative B → Kγ transition and the weak hadronic form factors entering the semilepton...
متن کاملNonperturbative O ( m − 2 c ) Effects in B → X s γ from Heavy Quark Effective Theory
The nonperturbative contribution, suppressed by powers of the charm quark mass m c , in the inclusive decay B → X s γ is analyzed in the context of heavy quark effective field theory (HQEFT). According to previous analyses, the leading effects of O(1/m 2 c) arise from an external gluon attached to a charm quark loop and can be expressed in terms of the chromomagnetic interaction of the b quark ...
